Some Resort - Cruise 2011 Collections

Marc Jacobs

The buoyant spirit of wealthy beach towns comes through at Marc Jacobs, where resort is flush with girlish quirks. He works a pastel palette in jumbo tweeds, webby knits and dresses with frothy, floral appliqués, all of which are feminine and flirty to the extreme in the case of full skirts — some midlength, some microsocopic — that kick out at the rear. And on the subdued side are A-line skirts, shorts suits and tipped knits for the playful preppy.

Marc Jacobs se ha inspirado en el espíritu optimista de los ricos pueblos costeros combinandolo con un aire de niña caprichosa. Trabajó con una paleta de colores pastel en tejidos tweed, asi como el punto o vestidos espumosos, apliques florales, todo muy femenino y coqueto hasta el extremo, sobre todo en el caso de las faldas (algunas a media pierna y otras microscópicas). En el lado más moderado de la línea cabe destacar unas faldas linea A, trajes de pantalón corto y trajes de punto para el tiempo ocioso del verano

The Resort collection is awash in cherry pink, blush, and soft neutrals, with shots of fluorescent pink courtesy of delicate bras and a retro-ruffled bikini. Fabrics like washed parachute silks, pleated georgettes, and lingerie lace add to the ultrafeminine feeling of the lineup.


Esta colección Resort está inundada de colores rosa y cerezas neutros, un rubor suave, con destellos de rosas fluorescentes ,delicados sujetadores y bikinis retro de volantes. En los tejidos de las prendas predominan las sedas, georgettes plisados, encajes y ropa interior para realzar la sensación de ultrafemineidad de la linea.

There was a vibrant early sixties sex-bomb pulse to many of the looks .The clothes had a sleek, kittenish spirit with all the oomph and optimism of Pop art before the decade went to pot.

Cruise collections in general aren't very creative but Karl is selling an entire lifestyle in this show.
They aren't just clothes for the beach.
Gingham Bardot bikinis, flouncy cotton dresses, caftans... Isn't my favorite Chanel show but I love some pieces and the accessories.
All these looks come back to essence of house. Funny show!


Las colecciones resort/Crucero por lo general, no son demasiado creativas, sin embargo Karl en esta propuesta lo que nos muestra es un estilo de vida.
No son sólo prendas para ir a la playa.
Bikinis que recuerdan a una joven Briggitte Bardot, vestidos de algodón con volantes, caftans... No se trata de mi colección favorita, pero me gusta algunas de las prendas y los accesorios.
Todos los looks vuelven a recordarnos cual es la esencia de Chanel. Ha sido un show muy divertido!
